Job Title

Staff Verification Engineer - System IP

Role Summary

Join the Budapest System IP verification team to develop and verify complex System IP components for client, embedded and IoT devices. The role focuses on microarchitecture contributions, verification engineering, modelling and debug to deliver performant, energy-efficient and secure IP.

The position works closely with design, performance modelling, validation and implementation teams to ensure functional correctness and meet performance, power and area targets.

Experience Level

Senior. Staff-level role requiring several years of post-degree industry experience in verification, RTL or related engineering.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include specification, verification and delivery of System IP components.

  • Contribute to System IP microarchitecture specification and design decisions.
  • Develop verification, modelling and debug code in SystemVerilog, C and C++ to achieve quality targets.
  • Design and own verification plans and environments; select and implement the best approaches.
  • Prototype and propose new methods and tool flows to improve verification efficiency and coverage.
  • Collaborate with teams across design, performance modelling, validation and implementation to meet functional, performance, power and area goals.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; nice-to-have items listed separately.

  • Proven experience in verification engineering for IP, ASIC or FPGA projects.
  • Strong software development skills in object-oriented languages (C++ or SystemVerilog) and experience using SystemVerilog/UVM for verification.
  • Practical experience with C for embedded software and familiarity with digital circuit concepts and FPGA/ASIC flows.
  • Ability to develop and maintain verification environments, tests and debug flows.
  • Effective collaboration and communication with cross-functional engineering teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Exposure to full product lifecycle: concept, specification, implementation, testing and release.
  • Block-level RTL design experience (SystemVerilog) on non-trivial ASIC/FPGA developments.
  • Scripting and tooling: Linux, Bash, Python or similar.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for training or customer meetings; strong English communication skills.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering strongly preferred; a Bachelor's degree plus relevant industry experience may be accepted. Fields referenced include Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering. Equivalent practical experience and post-degree industry verification experience are also recognized.
