Staff Validation Engineer - APAC

Role Summary

Lead post-silicon validation for Renesas memory interface products, focusing on DDR memory buffer devices. Drive validation planning, test execution, cross-team debugging, and escalate issues through to customer mass production.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 5+ years of experience in silicon validation, high-speed interface testing, or related roles.

Responsibilities

Accountable for validating DDR memory buffer products and resolving field issues from silicon to production.

• Develop and maintain silicon validation plans and test methodologies for DDR products.
• Set up and operate validation environments and automated test flows.
• Execute validation tasks, analyze results, and produce validation reports and summaries.
• Identify and document product issues; coordinate with design, software, and global teams to drive bug fixes.
• Support customer issues with diagnostic feedback and feasible engineering solutions.

Requirements

Core technical skills required and useful additions.

Must-have:

• Experience in silicon electrical characterization and high-speed signal measurement, analysis, and debug.
• Strong knowledge of DDR3/DDR4/DDR5 protocols, electrical characteristics, and testing/application.
• Proficient in Python for test automation and data processing.
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment: high-speed oscilloscopes, AWGs, BERTs, network/logic analyzers, DC supplies, SMUs, etc.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; good command of English.

Nice-to-have:

• Familiarity with DIMM RCD, data buffer designs, I2C/I3C interfaces.
• Board-level high-speed circuit design experience.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks and large-scale data analysis.

Education Requirements

MS or BS in Electrical Engineering or a related field. The posting requests 5 years or more of related work experience.
