Staff Test Engineer

Role Summary

Join Arm's Silicon Solutions Test Team to develop test capabilities for advanced process nodes and advanced packaging (2.5D/3DIC). The role coordinates across IP, SoC design, product and systems teams to enable test planning, silicon bring-up, characterization and production readiness.

Focus areas include test enablement, ATE software/hardware planning and execution, silicon bring-up and production test data capture and reporting.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include test enablement, silicon bring-up, and development of test programs and flows.

  • Own test enablement for upcoming silicon projects.
  • Lead first-silicon bring-up on ATE and provide daily progress reporting across the organization.
  • Develop and implement ATE characterization plans and test flows, including binning strategies.
  • Author and maintain test method source code for ATPG/Scan, MBIST, Functional tests, etc.
  • Maintain test program revision control and pattern conversion flows (SVN, git, etc.).
  • Guide ATE hardware development with vendors, including wafer probe cards, loadboards/sockets and thermal control interfaces.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • Expert knowledge of ATE test program development (Advantest 93k preferred) and test flow/method development.
  • Deep knowledge of DFT (Scan, MBIST, PHY BIST), silicon fabrication processes, product qualification, and packaging.
  • Proven experience in end-to-end SOC product development, including bring-up, characterization and production release.
  • Experience executing projects from architecture through production.

Nice-to-have:

  • Proficiency with Unix, C++, Python; SmarTest and SmartRDI experience.
  • Data analysis tools such as Excel, Tableau, JMP, YieldExplorer.
  • Familiarity with IEEE 1149, 1500, 1687, 1838; Streaming Scan Network (SSN) and scan diagnostics.
  • Experience testing Arm IP (Cortex CPUs, Mali GPUs, AMBA protocols, CoreLink, CoreSight) and 2.5D/3D System-in-Package (SiP).
  • Knowledge of failure analysis techniques and active thermal management.

Education Requirements

University degree or equivalent experience in Electronic Engineering or Computer Engineering.
