Job Title
Staff RFIC Design Engineer
Role Summary
Senior individual contributor on the RF Semiconductors team responsible for transistor-level RFIC design and silicon bring-up. The role is based in Istanbul, Turkey and supports product developments such as beamformers, up/down converters, mixers, detectors, switches, attenuators, filters, phase shifters, and amplifiers.
The position leads technical solutions for complex RF IC projects, provides mentoring to junior engineers, coordinates cross-functional design and validation efforts, and drives first-silicon characterization and corrective iterations.
Experience Level
Senior — typically requires 7+ years of relevant RFIC design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include design, verification, silicon bring-up, and technical leadership for RF integrated circuits.
- Transistor-level IC design for RF blocks and subsystems.
- Lead technical approach on ambiguous or high-impact design challenges; define tradeoffs and success criteria.
- Plan and execute design evaluation and first-silicon characterization; perform root-cause analysis and drive corrective iterations.
- Develop RF products across multiple process and packaging technologies.
- Create and improve design methods, models, and workflows.
- Provide project and cross-functional technical leadership and clear communication to align stakeholders.
- Prepare documentation and technical reports; present results and recommendations.
- Mentor and coach lower-level engineers on technical and professional development.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience, with additional preferred items noted.
Must-have:
- Strong understanding of S-parameters, transmission line theory, and RF networks.
- Proven ability to design, simulate, and verify circuits at transistor and behavioral/architectural levels.
- Experience with Cadence and Keysight ADS (or equivalent IC design/simulation tools).
- Demonstrated IC tape-out experience and experience driving silicon iterations.
- Experience using RF test equipment and performing RF characterization.
- Strong technical judgment, analytical problem-solving, and ability to resolve complex issues.
- Effective written and verbal communication; ability to influence across teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with electromagnetic simulation tools such as EMPro and HFSS.
- Experience across multiple process and packaging technologies.
- Prior leadership or mentoring experience in technical projects.
Education Requirements
