Staff R&D Prototyping Engineer — Test Solutions

Role Summary

Design and deliver prototypes that improve TestMAX ATPG accuracy and test pattern generation. Work closely with product engineers and R&D developers to iterate on prototypes, verify against real designs, and define production-ready tool flow architectures.

Experience Level

Senior. The role expects experienced engineers; the posting requests 5+ years of relevant experience in digital design, EDA tool flows, or semiconductor test engineering.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Analyze TestMAX ATPG and related tool outputs to identify accuracy gaps and dependencies.
• Collaborate with product engineers to translate customer problems into prototyping objectives.
• Design and build prototypes that aggregate design data to improve test pattern generation accuracy and coverage.
• Define prototype-to-production tool flow architecture and work with R&D to transition features into automation.
• Verify prototypes against real-world design scenarios to ensure scalability and integration into EDA workflows.
• Document findings, dependencies, and solution architectures to accelerate handoff and reduce rework.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in digital design, EDA flows, or semiconductor test engineering.
• Solid understanding of ATPG principles, fault models, and test coverage methodologies.
• Working knowledge of Static Timing Analysis flows and how timing constraints affect test generation.
• Familiarity with static and dynamic power analysis concepts and their role in test and verification.
• Proven experience prototyping technical solutions in an R&D or product-engineering context and translating prototypes to production-ready designs.
• Strong ability to analyze complex tool outputs, identify patterns, and convert findings into actionable prototypes.

Nice-to-have:

• Scripting experience with Python, Tcl, or Perl.
• Prior work on TestMAX or similar ATPG tools and EDA integrations.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience is required or acceptable.
