Staff Project Analyst
Role Summary
The CHS (Central Hardware System) Operations team seeks a Staff Project Analyst based in India to lead operations, resource and capacity planning for regional chipset programs. The role provides program and operations support to hardware engineering and design teams and partners with global cross-geo teams, especially US time zones.
The analyst will develop and manage processes, tools, dashboards, and automation to improve productivity and program execution from design through tape-out and product release.
Experience Level
Senior — typically requires 8+ years of progressive project/program support experience in technology, semiconductor, or hardware operations.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities include managing program operations, tooling, and cross-functional execution.
- Lead regional operations, resource and capacity planning across CAD, mechanical, and PCB design activities.
- Manage end-to-end hardware R&D program execution from design through tape-out, builds, testing, and release.
- Own and improve CHS Operations systems: SharePoint lists, Power Automate flows, and related intake-to-release processes.
- Drive financial roll-ups, budget intake/consolidation, and maintain budget dashboards for plan vs actuals and forecasts.
- Design and maintain executive dashboards and KPIs using Power BI (and Tableau where applicable).
- Coordinate external design-services partner planning and bookkeeping with Contracts and Finance.
- Lead resource planning, capacity modeling, gap analysis, and surface staffing risks early.
- Manage program milestones, change requests, risks, and governance artifacts (agendas, decisions, action tracking).
- Automate operational workflows and eliminate manual toil via Power Automate and other automation tools.
- Mentor junior analysts, codify templates/playbooks, and represent operations to senior leadership with executive briefings.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, domain experience, and workplace capabilities.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in project management or program execution within technology, semiconductor, or hardware operations (must-have).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, pivots, Power Query), SharePoint Online (lists and libraries), Power Automate, Power BI, PowerPoint, and Visio (must-have).
- Proven ability to produce audit-ready financial summaries and operate budget consolidation processes (must-have).
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills for engineering and executive audiences (must-have).
- Working understanding of the semiconductor product lifecycle from concept through high-volume manufacturing (must-have).
- Ability to operate across multiple time zones and cultures and collaborate regularly with US-based teams (must-have).
- Preferred: experience with SQL, Python, or scripting to automate data pipelines and reporting; familiarity with Jira at program scale; Agile/hybrid program management practices.
- Preferred: hands-on experience with modern automation/AI-assist platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365 Copilot) and prior experience scaling new operational processes globally.
Education Requirements
Required: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Acceptable alternatives: Associate's degree with 4+ years relevant experience, or High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 6+ years relevant experience. Advanced degrees may substitute for experience (Master’s = +1 year credit, Doctorate = +2 years credit). Master’s degrees (MBA, MS) are preferred.
