Staff Product Engineer
Role Summary
Lead new product development for RF/Microwave semiconductor products from early prototype through production release. Serve as the primary technical partner across design, process, manufacturing, test and quality to drive yield improvement, product performance optimization and product release.
Based in Richardson, TX. Focus on data-driven problem solving, statistical analysis and cross-functional coordination.
Experience Level
Professional / Senior level β typically requires 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent advanced education and experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage development projects from start through production release, including lot starts, BOM updates, assemblies and coordinating testing of package parts.
- Serve as the central technical resource for design, process, manufacturing, test and quality for assigned products.
- Generate and maintain Product Engineering deliverables during NPD and throughout product lifetime.
- Provide detailed analyses for major design revisions and identify parameters needing improvement.
- Practice continuous improvement and drive yield optimization by tracking fab parameters, uncovering correlations and troubleshooting process/equipment issues.
- Apply Statistical Process Control and other statistical techniques to reduce variability and guide decision making.
- Support Test Engineering to debug, validate and release production test hardware/software.
- Develop yield plans and participate in cross-functional problem-solving projects.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications:
- 8+ years of Product Engineering or related experience, or equivalent advanced education/experience.
- Experience leading projects and cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Effective written, verbal and presentation skills; comfortable presenting to internal and external customers.
- Understanding of RF/Microwave theory, semiconductor physics, and common RF test equipment and methodologies.
- Expertise with statistical methods and software (for example JMP, Spotfire, Excel).
- Time management skills to balance multiple high-priority activities.
- Must be a US Person; position is not eligible for visa sponsorship and requires work on US Government contracts.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience in III-V semiconductor manufacturing.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma, 8D, 5-Whys or comparable continuous improvement/problem-solving methods.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field required. Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is preferred. The posting allows equivalent advanced education and experience in lieu of degree.
