Staff Product Engineer

Role Summary

Responsible for sustaining power IC products after mass production: manage product lifecycle, resolve production and customer issues, and drive cost-of-goods-sold (COGS) and process improvements. The role focuses on maintaining product quality, reliability, and manufacturability for mature, high-volume products.

Works within the Manufacturing organization and collaborates with design, test, manufacturing, quality, reliability, fabs, assembly and OSAT partners to support production, yield, and customer returns.

Experience Level

Mid-level — minimum 5 years of product engineering or sustaining engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include sustaining products in production, driving yield and process improvements, and coordinating cross-functional actions to resolve manufacturing and customer issues.

• Manage lifecycle and production continuity for multiple high-volume PCP products across internal factories and subcontractors.
• Drive COGS reductions and process optimizations (yield, volume, test time, failure rate).
• Improve test processes and implement preventative measures to avoid quality excursions.
• Manage risk through Process Change Review Board (PCRB) activities, supporting product qualifications, material/second-source changes, and process migrations.
• Disposition abnormal or low-yield lots and coordinate corrective actions.
• Interface with Operations, Quality Assurance, Reliability, Factory teams, and OSAT partners.
• Monitor and resolve manufacturing and test issues with fabs, assembly, and test sites.
• Analyze product performance, failure modes, and reliability; support customer returns (RMA/FA).

Requirements

Must-have qualifications and skills to perform the role; plus items indicate preferred experience.

Must-have:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in product or sustaining engineering.
• Onsite work required at the Bayan Lepas facility.
• Proficient in data manipulation and analysis; familiarity with tools such as JMP and PDF Exenso is a plus.
• Experience with semiconductor integrated circuit manufacturing/processes.
• Strong sense of product cost, ROI, and efficiency; product management capabilities.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English; self-motivated with effective time management.

Nice-to-have:

• Product test knowledge and experience with NPI/development product engineering.
• Familiarity with ICs and modules such as drivers and power stages.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic), Physics, Computer Engineering/Computer Science or a related technical field is specified.
