Staff Product Applications Engineer — RF/Microwave
Role Summary
Provide product- and system-level technical support to customers across aerospace & defense, communications, instrumentation and other markets. Lead development of application software, reference boards and tools, validate product performance from baseband to D‑Band, and act as a technical authority for customers and internal teams.
This senior role works cross-functionally to bring products to market, mentor junior engineers, and resolve complex integration and qualification challenges.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 8+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide system-level application support and resolve complex customer integration issues.
- Lead development of application tools, drivers, reference boards, and demo hardware/software.
- Collaborate with engineering, marketing, and sales to guide product development and accelerate market introduction.
- Define and execute validation and qualification test plans to verify product specifications and operational limits.
- Serve as subject-matter expert and mentor junior engineers.
- Conduct competitive analysis and produce comparison materials and strategic insights.
- Support customers in integration, testing, and qualification for specialized markets.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred qualifications (concise):

Must-have: Advanced system architecture and system-level design expertise for RF/µWave/mmWave applications.
- Proven ability to independently develop application tools, reference boards and software that demonstrate product capabilities.
- Demonstrated cross-disciplinary collaboration and strong technical communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for resolving complex technical challenges.
- Deep knowledge of analog and mixed-signal semiconductor products and RF components (e.g., mixers, converters, modulators, beamformers, tunable filters, detectors).
- Experience in validation and qualification testing for specialized markets.
- Ability to evaluate competing products and provide actionable competitive insights.

Nice-to-have: Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical projects; hands-on experience across wide frequency ranges up to D‑Band.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
Education Requirements
