Staff/Principal Design Engineer
Role Summary
This role focuses on the architectural definition, RTL design, and integration of complex subsystems and SoCs used across Arm’s next-generation products. The ideal candidate will combine strong hands-on design expertise with technical leadership.
Experience Level
Senior; 10+ years of experience in design of complex compute subsystems or SoCs.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Writing micro-architecture specifications, developing the RTL, fixing bugs and running design checks.
- Collaborating with the Architecture team to develop Micro-architecture specifications for SOC Infrastructure areas.
- Reviewing test plans with the verification team to help debug design issues.
- Working with the Power and Performance analysis team to evaluate and improve PPA.
- Enhancing design methodologies used by the team.
- Supporting team members for successful project completion.
- Coordinating with Project Management on activities, plans, and schedules.
Requirements
Must-have skills include:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years experience in design of complex compute subsystems or SoCs.
- Expertise in creating Micro-architecture and Design specifications.
- Strong understanding of digital hardware design and Verilog HDL.
- Experience leading and developing RTL.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Experience with Perl, Python, or another scripting language.
Nice to have skills include:
- Experience with ARM-based designs and System Architectures.
- Development of subsystems for PCIe, LPDDR, HBM, UCIe, Ethernet.
- Knowledge of synthesis and timing analysis.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
