Role Summary
The Staff Physical Design Engineer will work on physical design and methodology for next-generation, high-performance processor chips in a CMOS process technology. This role involves collaboration with local and global teams on the design of complex chips for server, 5G/6G, and networking applications.
Experience Level
Senior - 5+ years of progressive experience in back-end Physical Design and Verification.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Working on physical design of complex chips and supporting methodology.
- Collaborating with design teams to ensure design convergence.
- Implementing designs with multi-voltage through all implementation aspects.
- Supporting RTL design teams to drive assembly and closure.
- Providing technical direction and mentoring to junior colleagues.
- Writing scripts in Shell, Python, and TCL for automation.
Requirements
Must have:
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in back-end Physical Design.
- Expertise in full-chip and sub-hierarchy integration.
- Experience in integrating large designs in a digital environment.
- Good understanding of RTL to GDS flows.
- Scripting skills in TCL, Linux shells, and Python.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Nice to have:
- Experience with multi-voltage and low-power design techniques.
- Familiarity with GIT.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
