Staff MMIC Design Engineer
Role Summary
The Staff MMIC Design Engineer will be responsible for the development of innovative GaN and GaAs-based RF/Microwave products. This role requires close collaboration with an integrated product development team including marketing, engineering, and quality assurance to design and develop leading-edge MMIC products.
Experience Level
Professional; candidates should have 2 or more years of experience with a PhD, 6 or more years with a Master’s, or 8 or more years with a Bachelor's degree.
Responsibilities
The main responsibilities include:
- Technical lead role for MMIC based product development.
- Design MMICs using linear and nonlinear models as well as 2.5D and 3D electromagnetic simulators.
- Manage product checkout, optimization, and design verification testing (DVT).
- Support products through the lifecycle stages, including concept, development, and production.
- Publish design work and submit invention disclosures for potential patents.
Requirements
Candidates must possess the following:
- Experience designing RFIC and/or MMIC amplifiers and switches.
- Understanding of advanced III-V compound semiconductor technologies, particularly GaN and GaAs.
- Familiarity with ADS or Microwave Office non-linear simulators and EM simulation tools.
- Knowledge of microwave measurements and calibration methods.
- Strong communication skills to summarize technical concepts.
Education Requirements
BS in Electrical Engineering with significant experience, or MS in Electrical Engineering with relevant experience, or PhD in Electrical Engineering focused on RF/Microwave with at least 2 years of experience.
