Job Title
Staff Mixed Signal Design Engineer
Role Summary
Provide technical leadership for the architecture, design, verification, and production release of complex mixed-signal integrated circuits (power management ICs, ADCs, DACs, PLLs and related blocks). Work across analog and digital domains to optimize system performance, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
Experience Level
Senior. Preferred experience guidance: MSEE with ~7β10 years relevant mixed-signal design experience, or PhD with 5+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Lead and deliver complex mixed-signal IC projects from concept through production, and establish design and verification approaches.
- Define architecture and lead design of complex mixed-signal ICs through production release.
- Make technical tradeoffs across analog/digital boundaries (performance, power, area, noise, timing).
- Drive integration of analog and digital IP, ensuring robust system-level performance.
- Develop comprehensive verification strategies and lead advanced lab testing.
- Guide physical implementation teams to meet performance and layout constraints.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
- Represent the design team to other functions and influence technical approaches.
- Lead high-impact projects and contribute to proposals, staffing, and budgeting forecasts.
Requirements
Technical must-haves for the role.
- Expert-level mixed-signal circuit design across power management, ADCs, DACs, PLLs, and similar blocks.
- System-level integration skills to combine analog and digital IP under varied operating conditions.
- Strong architectural judgment for current vs. voltage mode, performance targets, and power tradeoffs.
- Advanced simulation and verification experience, including developing verification strategies for mixed-signal systems.
- Mastery of industry-standard EDA tools (SPICE, MATLAB, Cadence Design Suite).
- Experience guiding physical implementation and layout tradeoffs to meet performance goals.
- Proven ability to develop and apply advanced design methodologies and drive innovation.
- Demonstrated leadership in technical decision-making and mentoring engineers.
Education Requirements
Preferred: MSEE with approximately 7β10 years of relevant mixed-signal design experience, or PhD with 5+ years of relevant experience. The posting emphasizes advanced degrees with corresponding experience levels; no other degree or certification requirements were specified.
