Job Title
Staff Engineer, Mixed-Signal Design Engineering
Role Summary
Provide technical leadership for the architecture, design, verification, and lab characterization of complex mixed-signal integrated circuits (power management ICs, ADCs, DACs, PLLs, and related blocks).
Work across analog and digital domains to optimize system performance, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to take products from concept to production.
Experience Level
Senior. Typical guidance from the posting: MSEE with 7β10 years relevant mixed-signal design experience, or PhD with 5+ years of relevant experience.
Responsibilities
Own architectural and technical decisions for complex mixed-signal IC projects and lead their delivery.
- Lead architecture and design of mixed-signal ICs from concept through production release.
- Drive integration of analog and digital IP, balancing performance, power, and area trade-offs.
- Define and implement verification strategies and lead advanced laboratory testing and characterization.
- Provide technical guidance and mentor less-experienced engineers; influence cross-functional teams.
- Make architectural trade-offs (e.g., current vs. voltage mode) to meet system requirements.
- Lead high-impact projects and contribute to proposals, staffing, and forecasting.
Requirements
Key technical skills and capabilities required for successful performance in this role.
- Expert-level mixed-signal circuit design experience (power management ICs, ADCs, DACs, PLLs).
- System-level integration skills across analog and digital IP blocks.
- Proven ability to develop verification strategies for mixed-signal systems and execute lab validation.
- Advanced simulation and modeling skills to predict and optimize circuit behavior under varied conditions.
- Mastery of industry-standard EDA and analysis tools such as SPICE, MATLAB, and Cadence tool flows.
- Experience guiding physical implementation teams to meet performance and manufacturability targets.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, design innovation, and ability to influence without direct authority.
- Willingness to travel (approximately 10% as listed).
Education Requirements
Preferred: MSEE with 7β10 years of relevant mixed-signal design experience, or PhD with 5+ years of relevant experience.
