Senior platform engineer responsible for designing, deploying, and operating scalable cloud and on-prem infrastructure to support AI model training and inference. You will work on the SimAI platform to improve reliability, developer velocity, and operational practices.

The role sits on an engineering platform team focused on production-grade Kubernetes, CI/CD, release automation, observability, and scaling GPU/CPU compute for unpredictable workloads.

Responsibilities

Deliver and maintain production platform infrastructure and operational practices. Key activities include:

• Design, deploy, and maintain platform infrastructure using Kubernetes, Pulumi, and Terraform.
• Build and scale GPU and CPU compute resources to support AI training and inference workloads.
• Improve and scale release, development environment, and CI/CD processes.
• Perform root-cause investigations, automated release testing, and production incident resolution.
• Develop monitoring, alerting, and observability tooling (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) to detect issues early.
• Evangelize best practices through RFCs, documentation, and mentoring; drive infrastructure patterns across teams.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience for the role:

• Proven experience managing production Kubernetes platforms at scale.
• Strong troubleshooting and incident response skills.
• Experience with distributed systems tooling and operations (Pulumi, NATS, Redis).
• Experience scaling resources and infrastructure for unpredictable AI workloads.
• Proficiency with scripting (Bash) and programming in Python or TypeScript.
• Ability to own problems end-to-end and work independently across distributed teams.
