Staff Engineer - Applications Engineering

Role Summary

This position involves leveraging advanced knowledge in electronic design automation (EDA) tools and methodologies to support customer projects in semiconductor design and verification at Synopsys. You will serve as a technical authority, mentoring teams and ensuring that complex technical challenges are addressed effectively.

Experience Level

We seek candidates with a substantial background in semiconductor EDA, specifically those with 8+ years of relevant experience, or 6+ years with a Master’s degree, or 4+ years with a PhD.

Responsibilities

Your main duties will include:

• Developing expertise in Synopsys sign-off products.
• Leading customer projects and guiding teams towards successful outcomes.
• Delivering high-quality technical support at customer sites.
• Creating training materials to enhance customer usability of Synopsys solutions.
• Translating customer requirements into usable product features.
• Managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.

Requirements

Necessary qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Extensive experience with Synopsys sign-off products or similar tools (e.g., RedHawk-SC, PrimeTime, PrimePower).
• Proficient in TCL and Python for scripting and automation.
• Strong skills in EMIR analysis, timing analysis, and power analysis.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Education Requirements

Candidates should possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable field, with advanced degrees preferred.
