Role Summary
The Staff Engineer, Analog Layout will contribute to the development of high-speed connectivity, broadband analog, and computing/storage-memory data-transport products. The role involves laying out high-performance analog circuits in CMOS process technologies and successfully placing products into volume production.
Experience Level
Senior; at least 5 years of related professional experience required.
Responsibilities
The candidate will:
- Own a chip/macro layout.
- Manage overall project schedules in coordination with design leads and layout managers.
- Collaborate with different teams, including layout, design, backend, frontend, ESD, packaging, and CAD.
- Implement project-specific guidelines and ensure compliance among team members.
- Contribute to team improvement through tool testing, script development, and flow documentation.
- Stay updated on technology and tool advancements to bring fresh ideas to the team.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Deep understanding of layout methodologies from chip planning to tape-out.
- Experience with parasitic optimization in layout.
- Advanced process technology and Fin-FET experience preferred.
- Proficiency in CALIBRE DRC, ERC, LVS report interpretation.
- High-level proficiency in Synopsys or CADENCE layout entry tools.
- Programming skills in Skill, Ample, or Perl are advantageous.
- Strong analytical background and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required.
