Staff Applications Engineer - Digital Implementation

Role Summary

As a Staff Applications Engineer in Digital Implementation at Synopsys, you will be the primary technical advisor for customers implementing RTL-to-GDS solutions. You will engage directly with clients, facilitating onboarding, technical evaluations, and production deployments across advanced technology nodes.

Experience Level

This role requires significant experience in digital design flows, specifically with RTL-to-GDS methodologies. Candidates should possess hands-on expertise in industry-standard tools and processes within the semiconductor design domain.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead for customers implementing the RTL-to-GDS solution.
• Develop and optimize methodologies for design implementation, addressing complex challenges with tailored solutions.
• Collaborate with global teams to enhance methodologies and influence product development.
• Provide technical guidance and ensure successful project delivery using Synopsys tools.
• Troubleshoot tool issues and advocate for customer-driven enhancements.

Requirements

• Proven expertise in RTL-to-GDS flows, synthesis, physical implementation, and timing analysis tools.
• Hands-on experience with advanced node design and related methodologies.
• Proficient in scripting for flow automation using languages like Tcl, Python, or Perl.
• Ability to manage technical deliverables independently and lead customer engagements.
• Deep understanding of digital design methodologies and EDA tool ecosystems.

Education Requirements

A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is preferred, accompanied by significant industry experience.
