Staff Application Engineer

Role Summary

The Staff Application Engineer will be part of a highly skilled ECO Field team at Synopsys in Bangalore, focused on timing signoff and design closure, working to enable customer success.

Experience Level

6-8 years of relevant experience in the semiconductor industry.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze customer and partner feedback to enhance product performance.
• Collaborate with R&D to define technical roadmaps and specifications for product improvements.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues both on-site and remotely for customer installations.
• Deploy product best practices and deliver technical training to stakeholders.
• Support customer projects using Synopsys STA, ECO, and design implementation solutions.
• Partner with technical managers and Sales to identify and deliver effective technical solutions.
• Communicate product value at both engineering and management levels with product demonstrations.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• Hands-on expertise with Place & Route (P&R), extraction, Static Timing Analysis (STA), and Engineering Change Order (ECO) tools.
• In-depth understanding of timing methodologies and timing analysis for IC designs.
• Experience in optimizing Power, Performance, and Area (PPA) targets.
• Strong scripting skills in TCL, Perl, and other relevant languages.
• Comprehensive knowledge of ASIC design flow and CAD engineering principles.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
