Job Title

Sr Staff SoC Design Verification Manager

Role Summary

Lead design verification, emulation and post‑silicon validation for custom SoC designs within Marvell's Custom Compute Solutions Business Unit in San Diego. Responsible for establishing verification strategy, tool selection, and building a high‑performance verification organization for advanced AI/XPU SoC programs.

Expected base pay range (USD): 171,600 - 253,970 per annum.

This role may require access to export‑controlled technology; candidates must be eligible for export‑controlled information as defined by applicable law.

Experience Level

Senior — typically requires 10+ years of verification and firmware/software development experience (8+ years for MS/PhD) and 5+ years leading a design verification team.

Responsibilities

Manage verification activities and team operations from planning through post‑silicon validation.

  • Lead DV, emulation, and post‑silicon validation execution with a zero‑defect mindset.
  • Define DV, emulation and post‑silicon validation scope, timelines, and verification strategies.
  • Drive development and implementation of verification testbench architectures and detailed test plans.
  • Collaborate with Architecture, Design, DFT, Physical Design, Firmware and System teams to ensure product success.
  • Evaluate, select, and deploy verification tools; drive continuous productivity improvements.
  • Hire, build, mentor, and retain a high‑performance engineering team; address ongoing training and development needs.

Requirements

Core technical skills, leadership experience, and professional behaviors required for the role.

  • 10+ years verification and firmware/software development experience or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience leading a design verification team.
  • Proficient in SystemVerilog and UVM; experienced building directed and random verification environments.
  • Experience with verification scripting (Python or Perl) and EDA verification tools.
  • Experience with object‑oriented design and implementation.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
  • Detail‑oriented, proactive, able to work with minimal supervision and across differing opinions.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Nice-to-have: C++, ARM assembly, and knowledge of networking protocols.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science (BS) with 10+ years of relevant experience; or MS/PhD with 8+ years of relevant experience. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
