Sr Staff Engineer Program Manager

Role Summary

Senior program manager responsible for leading end-to-end delivery of next-generation optical engines and related semiconductor solutions from concept through production ramp. The role sits in Cloud Optics and coordinates cross-functional teams across photonics, analog, packaging, test, qualification, supply, and finance.

High-visibility position that enforces schedule, risk mitigation, and program alignment to meet technical and business objectives for cloud and AI data center connectivity products.

Experience Level

Level: Senior. Preferred 10+ years industry experience (8+ years with a Master’s, 6+ years with a PhD) and at least 5 years of project/program management experience in the semiconductor industry.

Responsibilities

Lead program execution across multiple concurrent, cross-discipline workstreams to deliver optical solutions on time, on budget, and to specification.

  • Drive end-to-end program delivery from planning through production ramp, including initiation, scheduling, tracking, and execution.
  • Translate design requirements into product schedules and coordinate engineering, packaging, DVT/qual, supply, and finance.
  • Manage milestones: test & evaluation, reliability qualification, customer sampling, production acceptance and ramp.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks; maintain transparency and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Provide structured reporting and presentations to stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Resolve dependencies and deconflict resources across multiple development sites and teams.
  • Maintain material readiness, resource plans, and project inter-dependencies to avoid schedule slips.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration and motivate teams to meet program objectives.

  • Significant semiconductor program management experience driving silicon subsystems and system-level deliveries.
  • Demonstrated leadership, time management, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong risk identification, analysis, and problem-solving abilities with a track record of mitigation.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent development efforts and balancing technical and business priorities.
  • Familiarity with program management tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project, and tools like PowerPoint, Excel, and JIRA.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present to executives and cross-functional teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is expected. Master’s or PhD is preferred; the posting indicates preferred experience equivalencies of 8+ years with a Master’s and 6+ years with a PhD. No alternative certification requirements were specified.
