Role Summary
Senior engineer on the TCAD applications team responsible for developing and automating device and process simulation workflows. The role combines hands-on TCAD work, Python-based tooling, and applied AI/ML to improve validation, release automation, and engineering productivity.
Experience Level
Senior — typically requires 5+ years of industry experience in TCAD, semiconductor device physics, or process simulation.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include maintaining simulation workflows, improving models and processes, and delivering production-quality automation and validation tools.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain TCAD simulation workflows for device and process modeling across advanced semiconductor technologies.
- Analyze, benchmark, and improve device physics models, process flows, and simulation engines in collaboration with R&D teams.
- Design and implement Python-based tools, APIs, and automation frameworks to improve workflow robustness, usability, and scalability.
- Apply AI and Python-based methods to streamline regression analysis, validation flows, and release-readiness metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate engineering requirements into production-quality software and validation solutions.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 5+ years of industry experience in TCAD, semiconductor device physics, or process simulation.
- Strong proficiency in Python for scientific computing, automation, and tooling.
- Experience applying AI/ML techniques to engineering workflows.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience applying ML frameworks to scientific or engineering problems.
- Exposure to EDA tool development or semiconductor R&D environments.
- Experience supporting large-scale validation or release processes.
Education Requirements
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Computer Science, or equivalent graduate degree or equivalent practical experience.
