Sr. Staff Electrical Engineer

Role Summary

Lead verification efforts for complex mixed-signal power management ICs within the Consumer & Industrial Power (CIP) organization. This is a technical leadership role responsible for verification strategy, methodology, and ensuring high-quality silicon delivery across analog, digital, and system domains.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include defining verification approaches, driving implementation, and mentoring teams.

• Define and drive verification strategy and methodology for PMIC and power subsystems.
• Develop and own verification plans, environments, and infrastructure.
• Lead UVM-based verification and AMS/mixed-signal verification flows.
• Develop self-checking testbenches, constrained-random tests, and reusable VIP.
• Drive coverage closure (functional, code, assertion) and improve verification efficiency.
• Verify system-level behaviors including power sequencing, fault handling, and telemetry.
• Collaborate with analog, digital, system, and firmware teams to resolve cross-domain issues.
• Debug complex mixed-signal issues and drive root-cause analysis.
• Build regression infrastructure and automation frameworks.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across global teams.

Requirements

Key requirements (must-have items listed first).

• 10+ years of experience in digital or mixed-signal verification.
• Strong experience with SystemVerilog, Verilog, and UVM.
• Experience in AMS/mixed-signal verification and Real Number Modeling (RNM).
• Understanding of analog/digital circuits and power electronics/PMICs.
• Experience with verification planning, coverage metrics, and debug methodologies.
• Scripting skills (Python, Perl) for automation and infrastructure development.
• Strong debugging and analytical skills with a system-level perspective.
• Proven technical leadership in large-scale verification projects; ability to mentor engineers.

Preferred / nice-to-have:

• Experience with PMIC components: DC-DC converters, LDOs, and battery management systems.
• Familiarity with Cadence tools (Virtuoso, AMS simulation).
• Experience in system-level power validation and architecture.
• Experience building reusable verification frameworks and methodologies.

Education Requirements

BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (as stated in the posting).
