Job Title

Sr. Staff Analog/Mixed-Signal Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and validate high-speed analog and mixed-signal circuits for optical and electrical receiver and transmitter ICs. Member of the Broadband Analog group focused on TIAs, drivers, and front-end circuits for data center and telecom applications.

Work spans circuit design, simulation, pre- and post-silicon validation, and cross-functional coordination for production transition.

Experience Level

Senior — typically requires 7+ years of industry experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Design broadband analog and mixed-signal circuits for electrical and optical RX/TX front ends.
  • Design ancillary analog blocks such as linear regulators, AGC loops, current/voltage sensors, and bandgaps.
  • Perform circuit simulation, layout review, and participate in tapeout flow.
  • Lead post-silicon lab validation, debug, qualification, and transition to mass production.
  • Collaborate with system, process, test, packaging, and customer-support teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Deep sub-micron CMOS design expertise.
  • Hands-on experience designing broadband CMOS analog circuits (RX/TX front ends, input/output matching, TIAs, drivers).
  • Proven experience with chip tapeout and laboratory evaluation of high-performance transmitters or receivers.
  • Proficiency with IC design and simulation tools (Spectre, ADS, MATLAB or equivalent).
  • Strong communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
  • May require eligibility to access export-controlled technology; export license review may apply for non-U.S. citizens.
  • Nice-to-have: BiCMOS experience and familiarity with silicon photonics, VCSELs, EAMs, or MZMs.

Education Requirements

BSc in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years of industry experience, or MSc/PhD in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of industry experience.
