Sr. SOC/ASIC Physical Design Engineer

Role Summary

As a Senior SOC/ASIC Physical Design Engineer at SpaceX, you will be engaged in developing innovative silicon solutions for both space and ground infrastructures that enable cutting-edge connectivity. Your work will directly contribute to the efficiency of the Starlink broadband internet system, where you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve the design and manufacturing processes of high-performance ASICs.

Experience Level

This position is suitable for candidates with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in ASIC physical design and development, particularly in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Executing physical design tasks that include partition synthesis, floorplanning, place and route, and signoff checks.
• Enhancing physical design methodologies and automating implementation processes.
• Working closely with the ASIC design team to explore architectural feasibility and perform timing analysis.
• Diagnosing and resolving design-related issues, including timing and flow complications.
• Conducting signoff closure tasks in static timing analysis.

Requirements

The following skills and qualifications are required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in ASIC and physical design.
