Sr. Principal Foundry Engineer – Logic/RF Device Expert

Role Summary

The APAC Central Competence Team partners with external foundries to enable chip supply and technology ramp for NXP business lines. This role leads new technology introduction (NTI) and process transfers for advanced logic and RF devices, with emphasis on FinFET and HKMG technologies.

Primary mission: ensure manufacturability, yield, and electrical performance targets are met during process qualification, transfer, and ramp-up.

Experience Level

Senior — minimum 10 years of experience in semiconductor device engineering with strong emphasis on advanced logic/RF devices.

Responsibilities

Lead technical and project activities for advanced-node process qualification, transfer, and ramp-up.

• Drive NTI and process transfers between NXP and external foundries, ensuring manufacturability and yield targets.
• Collaborate with foundries, internal technology teams, and business units to qualify and release FinFET-based processes.
• Provide device-physics expertise for FinFET/HKMG architectures and their impact on circuit performance.
• Interface with stakeholders to resolve technical issues and make process-integration decisions.
• Lead project planning and execution to meet timelines and business objectives.
• Analyze electrical and yield data to drive improvements and root-cause investigations.

Requirements

Required technical skills, experience, and behaviors.

• Minimum 10 years in semiconductor device engineering focused on advanced logic/RF devices.
• Hands-on experience with HKMG and FinFET technologies in production or development environments.
• Deep understanding of semiconductor device physics for advanced nodes.
• Strong analytical skills in yield enhancement and electrical data analysis.
• Demonstrated leadership on development, transfer, or ramp-up projects.
• Experience working with external foundries and leveraging third-party manufacturing capabilities.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills; proactive and results-driven.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
