Sr. Principal Design Engineer
Role Summary
Lead and execute functional verification for interconnect IP and Tensilica processor subsystems. Own verification plans, UVM-based testbenches, coverage collection and closure, and coordinate with architecture, design, firmware and verification teams to validate complex, configurable designs.
Experience Level
Senior β typically requires 10+ years of design verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include planning and executing verification, maintaining coverage closure, and enabling integrated verification flows.
- Develop and execute verification plans for interconnect IP and processor subsystems.
- Design and maintain UVM-based verification environments and reusable testbenches.
- Collect, analyze, and close functional coverage; define coverage scope with cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with architecture, design, firmware and verification teams to resolve issues and define verification targets.
- Build automated verification flows and run gate-level simulations as required.
- Use simulation and debugging tools to isolate and resolve functional issues.

Must-have:
- 10+ years of design verification experience, with strong technical and interpersonal skills.
- Deep knowledge of interconnects, NoCs and design verification fundamentals.
- Strong command of AMBA protocols (AXI, AHB, APB).
- Proficiency in SystemVerilog and UVM to build flexible, reusable testbenches.
- Experience with scripting (Perl, Unix shell or similar).
- Experience with simulation and debug tools (e.g., Cadence Xcelium, Indago).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

- Understanding of coherency concepts.
- Experience with formal verification methodologies.
- Experience with integrated verification flows for processors using C and SystemVerilog.
- Experience with fully automated verification flows and gate-level simulations.
Education Requirements
BS or higher in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
