Senior Principal Design Engineer
Role Summary
Join a team developing physical IP for industry-standard high-speed serial links. The role covers mixed-signal circuit design, verification, and post-silicon validation, and requires collaboration with digital teams to achieve functional and performance closure.
Work includes architecture-driven circuit development, post-silicon test plan development and execution, and contributing to project leadership while working independently on assigned tasks.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Design mixed-signal circuits from high-level architectural specifications.
- Develop and execute post-silicon test plans and validation procedures.
- Perform mixed-signal verification and simulation to achieve functional and performance targets.
- Collaborate with digital teams to close functionality and performance gaps.
- Contribute to project leadership, drive independently assigned tasks, and support cross-functional integration.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and capabilities:
- Mixed-signal circuit design fundamentals and practical design experience.
- Mixed-signal design and verification flows.
- Experience with Cadence analog design tools and environments.
- Understanding of basic signal processing concepts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and contribute to project leadership.
Nice-to-have (preferred):
- Serial link design techniques.
- Data converters (ADC/DAC) and clock synthesis/recovery (PLLs, DLLs, CDRs) experience.
- Experience with MATLAB or C for architecture development.
- Familiarity with SystemVerilog or Verilog-A for functional modeling.
- Scripting skills (Perl, Python) for automation.
- Silicon validation and testing experience.
Education Requirements
Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of mixed-signal design industry experience, or M.S. in Electrical Engineering with 7+ years of mixed-signal design industry experience in advanced process technologies.
Compensation note: Annual salary range for California listed as $154,000 to $286,000; incentive compensation (bonus, equity) and benefits may apply.
