Sr Principal Application Engineer - Design Verification
Role Summary
Provide technical leadership and customer-facing engineering support for Cadence SoC verification solutions, including simulation, emulation/acceleration, formal tools, and AI-assisted verification workflows. Work closely with Sales and Corporate Engineering to scope evaluations, run benchmarks, deliver trainings/demos, and support customer projects.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include technical pre-sales and customer enablement for verification solutions.
- Collaborate with Sales to identify, scope, and qualify opportunities for SoC verification, AI, simulation, emulation, and acceleration products.
- Plan and execute technical evaluations and benchmarking with customers.
- Onboard and support customer projects through deployment and ramp-up.
- Deliver trainings, presentations, and product demonstrations at basic and advanced levels.
- Provide expert technical answers to customer queries and troubleshoot customer issues.
- Coordinate with corporate engineering and product teams to relay customer requirements and influence product improvements.
Requirements
Must-have skills and qualifications are listed first; plus items are beneficial.
- Must-have: Design experience using Verilog or VHDL at IP or SoC level.
- Must-have: Verification experience with SystemVerilog or VHDL and familiarity with HDL simulators.
- Must-have: Strong verbal and written communication skills in Japanese.
- Must-have: Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Preferred / Nice-to-have: Experience with formal verification (Jasper is a plus).
- Preferred / Nice-to-have: Experience with hardware emulators or accelerators.
- Preferred / Nice-to-have: Knowledge of advanced verification methodologies such as UVM.
- Preferred / Nice-to-have: Experience applying AI techniques to design and verification.
- Preferred: Business-level English proficiency.
