Sr. ASIC Validation Engineer (Silicon Engineering)
Role Summary
In this role, you will develop next-generation FPGAs and ASICs for deployment in space and ground infrastructures. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, contributing to the validation of custom silicon for advanced connectivity solutions.
Experience Level
5+ years of experience developing ASICs or FPGAs.
Responsibilities
- Perform pre-silicon emulation of critical systems of next-generation ASICs.
- Work within a small team of validation engineers to develop and bring up custom SpaceX silicon.
- Design, build, validate, and automate test benches for full characterization of custom silicon.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to improve testability and define test infrastructure logic.
- Develop modular and reusable instrument driver libraries and test automation sequences using C/C++ or Python.
Requirements
- Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or physics.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in related fields.
- Experience with microcontrollers, FPGAs, and basic digital signal processing.
- Familiarity with EDA tools like Palladium, Veloce, and ZeBu.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze test results for IP selections.
- Experience with Ethernet, PCIe, high-speed protocols, and serial digital communication.
- Knowledge of multi-threaded application development on both Windows and Linux systems.
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
