Software QA Engineer (Part-time)

Role Summary

Part-time QA engineer to support the Renesas Go Configure™ Software Hub desktop applications (GreenPAK Designer and ForgeFPGA Workshop). The role focuses on test planning, test execution, defect reporting, and maintaining test artifacts for cross-platform C++/Qt applications.

This is a fixed-term, part-time role (10 hours/week) based in Lviv. The contract is 6 months with possible extension.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Specific years of experience not stated; experience writing test cases and using test/CI/version-control tools is expected.

Responsibilities

The core responsibilities include creating and executing tests, documenting results, and collaborating with the product and engineering teams.

• Analyze software requirements and create test plans and test cases.
• Execute test plans across supported platforms; record results and generate test reports.
• Log, track, and verify defects; work with developers to reproduce and resolve issues.
• Write and maintain test documentation and test artifacts.
• Maintain test environments, including virtual machines where needed.
• Use version control and CI tools to support automated and manual testing workflows.
• Collaborate with a distributed engineering team and adapt to changing priorities.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and role expectations.

• Experience writing test cases and test documentation.
• Experience with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, TestLink) and project-management tools (e.g., Jira, Redmine).
• Familiarity with version control systems (SVN, Git) and source code management (GitLab).
• Experience using CI systems (e.g., Jenkins).
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt in a dynamic environment, and work effectively in a team.
• Available for part-time work (~10 hours per week) and flexible scheduling.
• Fixed-term contract commitment (6 months, possible extension).

Nice-to-have:

• Experience testing desktop applications.
• Knowledge of MacOS, Linux, and Windows platforms.
• Experience with virtual machines (VirtualBox, VMware).
• Intermediate English.

Education Requirements

Technical background in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering is listed as a plus. No mandatory degree, certification, or strict field-of-study requirement is specified; equivalent practical experience is acceptable.
