Software QA Automation Engineer (Part-time)

Role Summary

Join the QA team to design, implement and run automated tests for Renesas' Go Configure™ Software Hub, a cross-platform desktop application suite (Linux, Windows, macOS) used for chip configuration and FPGA workflows. The role focuses on Python/pytest-based automation and integration with the team's custom test framework.

Fixed-term part-time engagement: 6 months (possible extension), ~10 hours per week. Position based in Lviv, Ukraine.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing and maintaining automated tests, executing test plans, and collaborating with developers to ensure product quality.

• Analyze software requirements to derive test cases.
• Design and implement automated test cases using Python and pytest.
• Execute test plans, report results, and generate test documentation.
• Maintain and improve test documentation and automation codebase.
• Work with developers and QA team to reproduce and resolve defects.
• Integrate tests with CI and version control workflows.

Requirements

Must-have skills and tools for the role.

• Proven experience writing and maintaining automated tests using Python and pytest.
• Experience with UI automation frameworks (Selenium or similar); experience with desktop application automation preferred (team uses a custom framework).
• Familiarity with test management tools (TestRail, TestLink, etc.) and project tracking tools (Redmine, Jira, etc.).
• Experience with version control systems (Git or SVN) and code hosting (GitLab).
• Experience integrating tests with CI systems (Jenkins or similar).
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt in a dynamic environment, and collaborate effectively in a small team.

Nice-to-have:

• Familiarity with C++/Qt desktop applications or embedded software testing.
• Experience with SPICE simulation or FPGA toolchains.
