Role Summary

The Principal Software Engineer will work in the QuestaSim R&D team at Siemens EDA, focusing on software development and algorithmic advances in electronic design automation.

Experience Level

Senior-level; requires 15+ years of experience in Software Engineering.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing core algorithms and software design/architecture.
  • Collaborating with a senior team of software engineers to ensure production level quality of new components.
  • Supporting existing code and building new engines.

Requirements

Must-have requirements include:

  • B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics & Communication Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of C/C++, algorithms, and data structures.
  • Familiarity with compiler concepts and optimizations.
  • Experience with UNIX and/or LINUX platforms.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

Nice-to-have skills include:

  • Strong understanding of digital electronics.
  • Familiarity with ML and AI algorithms.
  • Proficiency in hardware description languages (Verilog, SystemVerilog, VHDL).
  • Experience with parallel algorithms.
  • Exposure to simulation or formal verification methodologies.

Education Requirements

B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics & Communication Engineering from a reputable institution.
