Job Title

Software Engineer II

Role Summary

Develop and support next-generation physical verification software used in IC design flows. The role sits on the Physical Verification R&D team and focuses on implementing algorithms, improving performance and accuracy, and integrating with a suite of EDA applications.

Work involves collaboration with cross-functional EDA teams and delivering features that meet customer requirements for physical verification and signoff.

Experience Level

Mid-level — expects approximately 2+ years of software development experience (C/C++) and exposure to Linux.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing, implementing, and optimizing physical verification software and algorithms.

  • Develop and maintain code for physical verification tools and related applications.
  • Design and implement algorithms, perform accuracy analysis, and optimize performance.
  • Debug complex software issues and collaborate with other applications in a connected tool suite.
  • Write specifications, unit tests, and documentation to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with global EDA teams to deliver integrated verification solutions.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required for the role, followed by additional preferred skills.

Must-have:

  • 2+ years professional software development experience using C/C++, with emphasis on complex algorithms and performance.
  • 1+ years experience working in a Linux environment.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and capacity to learn quickly.

Nice-to-have:

  • Algorithmic knowledge related to graph algorithms.
  • Experience in physical verification, physical signoff methodologies, or physical implementation environments.
  • Experience with Python, SQL, schematic/layout design, or deck development for physical verification.

Education Requirements

MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field is specified; the posting allows "or equivalent" (i.e., equivalent practical experience). No other degrees or certifications are listed.
