Job Title

Software Development Leader

Role Summary

Lead software development for an AI-driven silicon design platform, owning architecture, platform operations, and customer-facing deliverables. Manage engineering managers and senior engineers to deliver NLP, vector databases, knowledge graphs, ML pipelines, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and multi-modal AI solutions for production environments.

Collaborate with design, verification, performance, security, and customer stakeholders to prioritize the roadmap and ensure scalable, secure deployments.

Experience Level

Senior - minimum 15 years in software engineering with at least 5 years in engineering leadership (managing managers or multi-team organizations).

Responsibilities

Lead strategy, execution, and operations for the AI platform and engineering organization.

  • Define multi-year product and technology roadmap across NLP, embeddings, knowledge graphs, RAG, ML pipelines, and multi-modal systems.
  • Build, lead, and scale engineering managers and senior engineers; recruit and develop technical leadership.
  • Drive platform architecture, scalability, security, and performance across GPU, cloud, and containerized environments.
  • Establish MLOps, model lifecycle management, and AI monitoring standards.
  • Prioritize the roadmap based on customer feedback, business impact, and technical feasibility.
  • Own the platform security posture in partnership with security and compliance teams.
  • Evaluate vendors and partners; make build-vs-buy decisions for core platform components.
  • Own budget, headcount planning, and resource allocation for the organization.
  • Champion documentation standards and high-quality reference implementations for customer integration and evaluation.

Other responsibilities:

  • Perform work safely and support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Requirements

Key must-have and nice-to-have qualifications.

Must-have:

  • 15+ years in software engineering with at least 5 years in engineering leadership managing managers or multi-team organizations.
  • Proven track record building and scaling AI/ML-driven platforms in production.
  • Technical fluency with Python and modern ML frameworks to guide architectural decisions.
  • Deep understanding of transformers, embeddings, fine-tuning, model deployment, and enterprise AI platform concepts.
  • Experience owning inference pipelines or training workflows across cloud and containerized platforms at organizational scale.
  • Experience setting engineering standards for Git workflows, containerization, ML pipelines, and automation.
  • Familiarity with vector databases, RAG systems, knowledge graphs, and prompt engineering sufficient to direct technical strategy.
  • Proven experience partnering with platform architecture teams and communicating technical strategy to executive stakeholders.
  • Executive-level communication skills, including presenting technical strategy and business impact to senior leadership and customers.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with multi-modal LLM strategies and evaluating AI-native platforms (OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face).
  • Experience establishing MLOps practices and model automation standards across multiple teams.
  • Experience directing RAG strategies and tools (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex) or custom architectures.
  • Background in semiconductor, EDA, or related deep‑tech industries.
  • Strong stakeholder management, organizational design, change-management, and business acumen.

Education Requirements

Preferred: Master's or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Alternatively, the posting accepts equivalent experience - explicitly: 18+ years in software engineering/related field with progressive leadership scope as an alternative to an advanced degree.
