Software Development Engineer

Role Summary

Join the Hardware-Assisted Verification Division within Siemens EDA to develop FPGA-based prototyping solutions for the Veloce proFPGA platform. You will design, develop, and validate HDL modules and low-level software used in FPGA prototyping and verification workflows.

The role is part of an R&D team working closely with software groups to integrate system components and optimize timing, capacity, and performance of FPGA prototypes.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing FPGA logic, validating prototypes, and integrating hardware and software components.

  • Develop FPGA-based solutions and design digital HDL modules.
  • Design with timing constraints, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
  • Perform validation and testing using simulation and proFPGA platforms.
  • Develop low-level validation software for components.
  • Integrate system components in coordination with software teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and tools:

  • Proficiency in digital design using HDL: VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog.
  • Hands-on FPGA design experience and familiarity with FPGA toolchains (e.g., Vivado, Quartus) and static timing analysis.
  • Strong RTL design debugging and simulation skills.
  • Experience in C++ and object-oriented software development.
  • Familiarity with Linux and scripting (TCL, Bash, Python).
  • Experience with version control systems (Git, Perforce, SVN).
  • Fluent in English.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
