Job Title
SoC Power Architect
Role Summary
Work on power architecture and optimization for NVIDIA DPU and NIC products. The role involves defining power-aware architectures, developing models and methodologies, and driving power improvements across architecture, design, verification, and platform teams.
Experience Level
Mid-level β requires at least 5 years of relevant ASIC, microarchitecture, architecture, or performance engineering experience.
Responsibilities
The role focuses on improving silicon power efficiency across the product lifecycle. Key responsibilities include:
- Develop architectures, algorithms, models, and methodologies to reduce power consumption for DPU and NIC products across design lifecycles.
- Lead research into power optimization techniques and power modeling approaches.
- Define power-aware architecture requirements and implementation strategies that balance power, performance, area, and design execution.
- Work with board, package, and physical-design teams to mitigate power-delivery, di/dt, thermal, and signal-integrity constraints.
- Collaborate with software, ASIC design, verification, and platform teams to implement end-to-end power improvements.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in ASIC design, microarchitecture, architecture, or performance engineering.
- Strong electrical engineering fundamentals; experience with digital design, front-end and back-end practices, power analysis, and characterization.
- Exceptional analytical and system-level problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication, teamwork, and ability to drive complex cross-disciplinary activities.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience as a hardware architect on high-end ASICs.
- Background in computer architecture focused on power management, optimization, characterization, or modeling.
- Proven track record of power or performance improvements on silicon products.
- Knowledge of physical-design back-end practices and their interaction with power-architecture decisions.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
