Job Title

SoC Logic Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and implement RTL logic for SoC blocks, integrate IP and subsystems into a full chip SoC, and ensure design quality through simulation and verification. Work within a cross-functional team including architects, verification, and physical design to meet power, performance, area, timing, and security goals.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The role expects several years of relevant RTL/SoC design experience (typical hires meet the experience ranges listed in Education Requirements).

Responsibilities

Primary technical and collaborative responsibilities include:

• Implement RTL (Verilog/SystemVerilog) that meets functional, area, power and timing targets.
• Integrate IP blocks and subsystems and validate SoC-level interactions.
• Perform simulation-based bring-up and debug with verification teams.
• Ensure design quality via Lint, CDC, low-power, and other verification checks.
• Write detailed micro-architectural specifications and work with architects on requirements.
• Collaborate with physical design engineers to ensure implementability and timing closure.
• Apply secure-development practices and drive quality-assurance compliance for IP-to-SoC handoff.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• Proficient RTL coding in Verilog/SystemVerilog and hands-on RTL implementation experience.
• Experience with SoC or subsystem RTL design and integration, including IP integration.
• Experience with simulation, functional debug, and working alongside verification teams.
• Familiarity with timing closure, power/performance/area trade-offs and optimization techniques.
• Experience using lint, CDC analysis, and low-power verification flows.
• Practical collaboration with physical design to address physical implementation issues.
• Strong problem-solving, written and verbal communication, and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with SoC flows for reset, power management, interrupts, and error handling.

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related STEM field plus 4+ years relevant experience; OR Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related STEM field plus 3+ years relevant experience. Required experience areas include SoC/subsystem RTL design and integration or IP RTL design using Verilog/SystemVerilog.
