Job Title

SoC Functional Validation Intern

Role Summary

Join the SoC validation team to support functional validation of System-on-Chip (SoC) devices and systems through hands-on testing and debugging. Work with experienced engineers across the product lifecycle to develop test content, execute validation plans, and improve validation infrastructure.

This is an internship position within Intel's Data Center Group (DCG) requiring regular onsite presence with hybrid work flexibility.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Internship). Suitable for current students pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree; requires limited practical experience in programming and validation-related tasks.

Responsibilities

The intern will assist validation engineers in activities that ensure SoC readiness and quality.

  • Support functional validation of SoC hardware and system-level features.
  • Perform HW and SW debugging on real silicon and test environments.
  • Help create and execute validation test plans and test content.
  • Collect and analyze data for validation metrics and report findings.
  • Assist in development and maintenance of validation infrastructure and test environments.
  • Learn and apply Pre-Si and Post-Si tools and Intel SoC architecture under mentorship.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and document work and results.

Requirements

Must-have skills and conditions for consideration; preferred items are listed separately.

  • At least ~3 months experience programming in Python, C, or C++ (from coursework, internships, or projects).
  • Advance (proficient) English language skills.
  • Must have unrestricted, permanent right to work in Mexico; role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
  • Ability to work onsite regularly at the Guadalajara site (hybrid work model applies).

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
  • Experience developing code for embedded systems.
  • Basic knowledge of SoC, microprocessor, or computer architecture.

Education Requirements

Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a closely related technical field. Qualifications may be met through a combination of relevant coursework, internships, research, or equivalent practical experience.
