SOC Engineering Staff Engineer
Role Summary
The role involves leading full RTL2GDSII physical design implementations for advanced process nodes (7nm/5nm/3nm) at Synopsys. As a Physical Design Engineer, the focus is on delivering robust designs that meet performance and power targets, while collaborating with global teams to solve complex engineering challenges.
Experience Level
Senior level, with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in physical design.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities include:
- Independently driving the RTL2GDSII physical design implementation.
- Executing synthesis, place & route, CTS, and timing optimization.
- Performing physical verification, EMIR analysis, and timing closure.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address design challenges.
- Utilizing Synopsys EDA tools for optimal silicon solutions.
- Maintaining automation scripts to enhance design efficiency.
- Contributing to design methodology improvements and mentoring junior engineers.
Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in physical design for advanced technology nodes.
- Hands-on experience with RTL2GDSII flows.
- Proficiency in Synopsys EDA tools like Design Compiler and IC Compiler II.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, PERL, TCL, or similar languages.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (BE/BTech/MTech or equivalent) in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
