The SOC Engineering Principal Engineer at Synopsys is responsible for leading the development of system-on-chip (SOC) designs, guiding teams through the entire SOC lifecycle from architecture to post-silicon validation. This role involves direct customer engagement and mentoring of other engineers, aiming to deliver high-performance SOC solutions across various industries.
Experience Level
Senior level with a minimum of 10 years of experience in SOC-level architecture and RTL development.
Responsibilities
The principal duties include:
- Driving end-to-end SOC development from architectural definition to customer delivery.
- Providing technical leadership and mentorship to micro-architects and RTL developers.
- Engaging with customers to deliver tailored solutions to their needs.
- Managing the full SOC development lifecycle including micro-architecture, RTL design, and tapeout management.
- Collaborating with partners on software and firmware for seamless integration.
- Occasional travel to customer sites to support project execution.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications are:
- BSEE, MSEE, or Ph.D. in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of SOC-level architecture and RTL development experience.
- Proficiency in SOC system architecture, micro-architecture, RTL development, and design verification.
- Expertise in high-performance computing architectures and SOC standard interfaces.
- Implementation experience with various CPU architectures.
- Hands-on experience with workflow tools such as git.
- Willingness to travel and work on-site as needed.
Nice-to-have qualifications:
- Eligibility for government security clearances.
Education Requirements
BSEE, MSEE, or Ph.D. in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering.
