SoC Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

The SoC Design Verification Engineer will join Arm's Solution Engineering team in Toronto, focused on building best-in-class compute solutions. The role involves collaboration with global teams to verify SoCs, utilizing advanced design methodologies and verifying complex compute subsystems.

Experience Level

Senior level; over 10 years of experience in design or verification of sophisticated compute subsystems or SoCs is required.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to robust SoC design verification including SoC integration and performance evaluation.
  • Define the functional verification strategy based on architecture and design specifications.
  • Develop verification test plans and implement UVM/SystemVerilog/Verilog testbenches.
  • Debug and resolve complex functional verification issues.
  • Enhance verification methodologies and standards within the team.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams on design aspects.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
  • Assist Project Management with planning and coordination.
  • Ensure quality and alignment to timelines for key project landmarks.

Requirements

Candidates must have:

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical/Computer Engineering.
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of digital hardware design principles and Verilog HDL.
  • In-depth knowledge of modern verification methodologies.
  • Proven expertise in SoC subsystems verification (e.g. PCIe, DDRx).
  • Experience in RTL verification for large-scale SoC projects.
  • Proficiency in C and Assembly programming languages.
  • Experience with SystemVerilog and UVM, OVM methodologies.
  • Experience leading verification across multiple projects.

Nice to have skills include understanding of Arm-based designs and formal verification techniques.

Education Requirements

Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or similar field.
