SOC AI Power and Performance Validation Undergrad Intern

Role Summary

Undergraduate intern on the Silicon Architecture team supporting architecture definition, power and performance analysis, and system-level optimization for CPU/SoC and AI platforms. Work directly with architects, design engineers, and validation teams on modeling, simulation, feasibility studies, and performance trade-offs.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” Undergraduate intern. Candidates are expected to be current bachelor's students with relevant coursework or 3+ months of practical experience in the listed technical areas.

Responsibilities

Typical duties include:

  • Assist in defining and analyzing CPU, SoC, and platform architectures.
  • Support modeling, simulation, and trade-off analysis for performance, power, and features.
  • Perform data analysis, debugging, and performance optimization.
  • Contribute to feasibility studies and early-stage product definition.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with architecture, design, and validation teams.
  • Investigate and apply AI/ML techniques in architecture and system design.

Requirements

Minimum requirements and preferences:

  • Available for a full-time internship of at least six consecutive months.
  • Minimum 3+ months of educational or practical experience in: computer architecture fundamentals; data analysis and debugging; machine learning; and Python programming.
  • Candidates must meet work-authorization requirements; this position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.

Preferred:

  • Experience with power and performance analysis methodologies.
  • Familiarity with performance optimization techniques.
  • Understanding of AI/ML workloads or neural networks.

Education Requirements

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
