SMTS - SiGe Device Engineer (RF PL)

Role Summary

Senior device/integration engineer in the RF Product Line Technology Development organization responsible for development, optimization, and qualification of SiGe semiconductor devices and related processes.

The role works with process integrators, module engineers and cross-functional teams to meet performance, schedule and quality targets and to drive continuous device/process improvement.

Experience Level

Senior. The position requires extensive industry experience (guidance provided by the posting: approximately 8 years post-PhD, 10 years post-Master's, or 12 years post-Bachelor's).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include device/process development, experimental design, troubleshooting and mentoring.

• Develop, optimize and qualify SiGe semiconductor devices and associated process flows to meet performance and quality requirements.
• Design, execute and analyze Design of Experiments (DOE) to drive device/process improvements.
• Collaborate with process integrators and module engineers to improve device and yield performance.
• Lead technical problem solving for process-related issues and own resolutions through implementation.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Innovate and implement continuous device/process improvement methods.
• Perform work in a safe manner and support Environmental, Health, Safety & Security programs.

Requirements

• Must-have: Wafer fab process integration experience.
• Must-have: Knowledge of semiconductor device physics.
• Must-have: Proven DOE design, execution and data analysis skills.
• Must-have: Strong analytical and optimization skills; ability to lead technical problem solving.
• Must-have: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and to mentor junior staff.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with SiGe device tuning.
• Nice-to-have: Demonstrated independence, resourcefulness and continuous learning mindset.

Education Requirements

Degree required: Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Materials Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. The posting specifies experience equivalencies: ~8 years for PhD, ~10 years for Master's, ~12 years for Bachelor's degree.
