Silicon Test Engineer

Role Summary

Member of the Product Development and Test Engineering group responsible for validation, characterization, and production deployment of leading-edge IPs for 5G products on advanced FinFET processes. Work closely with IC Design, Software, Systems and Operations to enable high-volume manufacturability and release production test solutions.

Experience Level

Mid-level - typically 1–4 years of relevant product development, test validation or production test experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include test development, validation, characterization and production qualification.

• Operate and develop Automated Test Equipment (ATE) test programs to validate and debug silicon.
• Develop test hardware and embedded/host software for characterization and production test.
• Characterize devices across voltage/temperature/process corners and analyze results.
• Deliver cost-effective production test solutions for high-volume manufacturing.
• Collaborate with IC design, systems, software and operations teams to resolve design and yield issues.
• Use oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, logic analyzers and similar instruments for measurement and debug.
• Maintain test documentation, test plans, and production handoff artifacts.

Requirements

Must-have vs nice-to-have skills and experience.

• Must-have: Experience in product development, test validation or high-volume production activities related to SoC (mobile, compute, data center, automotive, IoT) - typically 1+ years.
• Must-have: Experience operating or developing ATE-based tests and using lab measurement equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, logic analyzer).
• Must-have: Practical programming/scripting experience for test automation (Python, C/C++, or embedded languages).
• Must-have: Ability to communicate effectively and work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment; able to perform routine lab physical tasks.
• Nice-to-have: Circuit design experience (digital, analog, RF), schematic capture and circuit simulation.
• Nice-to-have: Knowledge of VLSI, CPU architecture, Logic Test (ATPG), memory interfaces, high-speed SerDes, sensor validation and DFT techniques (Scan/ATPG, JTAG, memory BIST).
• Nice-to-have: Experience with Advantest or Teradyne ATE, data analysis tools (JMP, NI, Exensio) and familiarity with ARM/microcontroller platforms.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with CMOS analog/mixed-signal measurements (ADC, DAC, PLL, LDO, LNA, mixers, PAs).

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field. Preferred: Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Science or related fields. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
