Role Overview
The Silicon Photonics Advanced Development Engineer is responsible for engineering design, process development, and productization related to Marvell’s optics DCI product line. This individual plays a key role in developing high-speed optical components, contributing to the next generation of data centers and AI market segments.
Experience Level
Candidates should possess a Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, or related fields along with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of related professional experience is acceptable.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Engage in the development of optical component technologies and heterogeneous integration.
- Design and validate high-speed optical components including transmit and receive amplifiers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams of circuit designers, signal/power integrity engineers, and system designers.
- Perform system-level testing and validation.
- Keep pace with evolving responsibilities as project needs change.
Minimum Requirements
Required qualifications include:
- Strong knowledge of semiconductor physics and optical device design.
- Hands-on experience with optical and RF electrical modeling and simulation software.
- Experience with optical device characterization and control.
- Familiarity with Si/CMOS/MEMS fabrication processes.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and ability to collaborate with local and global teams.
Education Requirements
A Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, or related fields is preferred. A Bachelor’s degree with extensive experience is also acceptable.
