Service Engineer
Role Summary
Provide hands-on service, operations and sustainment for automated sample lines and robotic handlers, including device programming, test automation and failure analysis of SW/HW. Act as primary service contact for internal and external stakeholders and support secure handling of sensitive data.
Work within a cross-functional, international team to maintain and improve sample-line automation, tooling and processes.
Experience Level
Mid-level β typically 3+ years of relevant programming and service/operations experience (source specifies more than 3 years of programming experience).
Responsibilities
Key duties include operating and improving automated sample lines and supporting customers and stakeholders.
- Operate and maintain sample flashing via robot arm handlers and automated sample line equipment.
- Develop, sustain and perform failure analysis on SW/HW for automation systems; implement fixes and improvements.
- Write and maintain software for automation and workflows (C#, Python, C++ as applicable).
- Prepare and manually program engineering devices when required.
- Create automation scripts, templates and processes to increase efficiency and reliability.
- Act as primary contact to clarify and respond to internal and external service requests.
- Handle confidential data following data protection and security procedures.
- Suggest and implement process improvements and document procedures; monitor compliance.
- Arrange user access and manage permissions for relevant applications.
- Collaborate with international colleagues across departments and cultures.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, tools experience and personal attributes.
- Advanced programming and debugging skills in C# or C++, and Python.
- More than 3 years of practical programming experience (as stated in source).
- Experience with collaboration and version-control tools (Confluence, Jira, MS Office, SVN/Git).
- Basic understanding of quality improvement and SW/HW test methods.
- Willingness to perform operational tasks and on-site equipment handling.
- Excellent English communication skills (mandatory).
- Strong analytical skills, teamwork, proactive attitude, independent and reliable work style, and willingness to learn.
- Nice-to-have: basic knowledge of information security and cryptography.
- Bonus skills: microscope, multimeter, caliper use, and 3D CAD modeling experience.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Technical Information, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (as stated in source).
