Role Summary

The Senior VLSI Methodology Engineer will design and maintain automation infrastructure for library modeling, validation, and release within NVIDIA physical-design flows. The role partners with cell-design and process teams to build data-driven pipelines, verification systems, and quality controls for advanced-node GPU and SoC libraries.

Experience Level

Senior - the posting requests 4+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Operate and expand automated systems that ensure library quality and support PD flows.

  • Build scalable validation pipelines and dashboards for library quality checking.
  • Develop automated library analysis, validation, and quality-control flows using EDA tools and scripting.
  • Integrate library quality systems with design teams; improve cell-design methodologies and threshold partitioning.
  • Define and implement guidelines for library modeling, abstraction, and data integrity.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 4+ years of experience in library development, physical design, or CAD/methodology roles.
  • Hands-on experience with industry EDA tools (e.g., Innovus, Fusion Compiler, Crosscheck, Virtuoso) including scripting, customization, or tool integration.
  • Advanced scripting/programming in Python, C++, or Perl and experience building automation workflows and data pipelines (collection, validation, reporting/dashboards).

Nice-to-have:

  • 2+ years specifically in library modeling/validation, quality systems, or physical-design automation.
  • Understanding of how library models are consumed in synthesis, place-and-route, timing closure, and power analysis.
  • Experience building model-calibration workflows, system-level quality models, or integrated dashboards tracking release readiness and regression health.
  • Applied AI/ML/LLM experience to enhance EDA tools or automation.

Education Requirements

M.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience (the posting explicitly states "M.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience)").
