Role Summary
Senior software engineer on a small team building high-impact VLSI CAD tools for chip design and visualization. The role covers full development lifecycle: architecture, implementation, testing, and support for tools used across NVIDIA product lines.

Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, high-performance CAD/EDA software and collaborate with global engineering teams.
- Design, implement, review, test, and support high-capacity chip design and visualization tools.
- Write well-designed, maintainable production code for desktop engineering applications.
- Contribute to software architecture and system design decisions.
- Use and improve development workflows: unit tests, CI/CD, code reviews, and modern toolchains.
- Work in an Agile environment and collaborate with internal engineering customers worldwide.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in CAD/EDA tool development.
- Strong knowledge of CAD data structures and algorithms, especially for physical VLSI design automation.
- Expert programming skills in C++, Java, or C#.
- Proficiency with modern software platforms and tools (for example C++20, Java 21, git, IDEs such as IDEA/Visual Studio/CLion, unit test frameworks, CI/CD).
- Skilled in software system architecture and object-oriented design; apply sound design principles.
- Experience using AI-based code assistant tools.
- Able to adapt to a growing team scope and evolving technical requirements.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience designing and coding large-scale design automation tools.
- Performance analysis and tuning experience.
- Knowledge of at least one physical CAD data model and familiarity with VLSI concepts.
Education Requirements
MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or BS in CS/CPE (or equivalent practical experience) as stated in the posting.
