Senior Verification Engineer (IP verification)
Role Summary
Join Arm's Systems team in Bristol to verify complex IP blocks (crypto accelerators, DVFS, PCIe, interconnects) and ensure correct integration with software and other IP. Work across architecture, design, modeling, silicon validation, FPGA and board teams to deliver robust IP for multiple market segments.
Position is based in Bristol. No relocation package is offered; Arm will cover employer-side visa sponsorship costs but the candidate is responsible for any individual visa application charges and the Immigration Health Surcharge.
Experience Level
Senior β role title indicates senior level; typically 7+ years of relevant verification experience is expected.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Define verification methodology and write detailed test plans.
- Develop C-based software tests and SystemVerilog/Verilog testbenches and testcases.
- Debug test failures and investigate integration issues between IP and software.
- Plan tasks and schedules, and report progress to project leads and management.
- Collaborate with architecture, design, implementation, modeling, performance analysis, silicon validation, FPGA and board development teams.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Strong knowledge of Verilog/SystemVerilog HDL and digital hardware verification.
- Experience with verification approaches such as UVM, formal methods, and power-aware verification.
- SoC verification experience including embedded low-level programming (C/C++ tests and assembly, preferably ARM).
- Familiarity with full verification lifecycle: requirements, methodology, testbench implementation, test development and documentation.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills; knowledge of IP/SoC verification flow and strategy.
- Experience with ARM-based builds and system architectures.
- Clock domain crossing verification and experience with GLS, DFT/DFD techniques.
- Power-aware verification using UPF.
- Automation and scripting experience (Tcl, Perl, Python, shell scripting).
- Openness to explore and apply AI-based methods to digital verification.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with formal tools (e.g., JasperGold, VC formal).
- Background in hardware security and cryptographic algorithms.
- Understanding of machine learning algorithms and their application to verification.
- Familiarity with Arm proprietary tools and environments.
